President's Word
On the 36-year anniversary of Goodmanson Construction,
I feel humbled and very proud of all of the people that have been instrumental in our success. My wife, Cami, has been a rock
keeping this organization's finances and office running like the
energizer bunny. Without her tireless dedication to detail, we would
be just another statistic on the government's list of failures.
The fact that Rick, our son, chose to come aboard and play a leading
role had Cami and I over joyed yet confused. With a degree in aviation management and holding a commercial pilot's license, one would
assume that Rick would follow the aviation business path where there
is big money to be made. Rick has taken this old “Mom & Pop” company
to a bona fide small business that employs many people. In the last few years our gross sales have shot up and everyone has IRA’s, health insurance, and many other benefits. More importantly, Rick has put
together a team who loves their work, is proud of the company and themselves, and believes in each other. The quality and quantity of their
work is exemplary. Rick's business management expertise, leadership skills, and caring attitude has revitalized a once tired and slow moving
group. Rick's quality consciousness and attention to detail has caused
the Goodmanson name to become the most highly rated on a long list
of names on: "Angie’s List”.
The most recent blessing on a very long list of pleasant surprises is, Kimberly Elm, Cami and my second oldest daughter, who has
decided to come aboard. Kim has a degree from Hamline University in Religion and World Studies. At Hamline, Kim was on the only
Gymnastics team that won a National Championship in the history
of the University. Kim is a world class gymnastics coach with great organizational skills and a very positive attitude. Kim has joined our
sales and estimating team. Her outgoing, positive personality has
helped revitalize the office as well as produce more sales.
Thanks to Kim, our sales team has a better well-documented plan
of action to enhance their ability to track what advertising is working
best and define our potential customer base. We’re all very happy to
have Kim be a part of the business.
The absolute most important aspect of our business in the past
35 years has been you, our customers and friends, the people
who have trusted Goodmanson Construction enough to let us work
on your homes. The simple fact that you have spent your hard
earned money, sometimes money that has taken years to save,
to have us do your home improvements is very humbling. As our
advertising guru, Melissa Holland, put it, we have been
“Developing Concrete Relationships Since 1971”.
This can happen because people trust us, and we deliver,
causing personal relationships to materialize.
I would like to say thank you to all of our customers who have
put their faith in Goodmanson Construction in the past.
Without you we would have no company.
I would also like to thank all of my family as well as employees
that keep this extended family business prospering and growing.
It’s still very surreal to me to have such articulate, intelligent,
and caring people surround me everyday. I am extremely proud
of everyone involved, and I am also very grateful to all of you.
